The Feds.

On my way to work this morning I pulled up behind this guy. He inspired me to create the virtual version via Forza's awesome paintjob tools.

My Obsession.

I've been playing Forza Motorsport 2 recently, and by recently I mean 26 days straight! The level of immersion and depth is absolutely incredible. That little beauty above is my 1968 Plymouth Barracuda. Notice my cheesy American flag custom paint job. I break this beauty out when I'm playing with a room full of Brits. This big boy owns the road...

A Decade of Destruction.

Done! Props to friends, family, and my loving fiance Rina. Without your love and support this wouldn't have been possible.

Cheers.

It's Over.

It's finally over.

I'm in Another Place.

I’ve got a minute (imagine that), better update the old blog! Oh bloggie, its been a while, what do I have to report to you? There are those wonderful Vegas odds on graduation increasing by the nanoseconds. I’m not entirely out of the woods yet though, I’ve got three presentations, three finals, and two papers standing in my way… this would be a proper time to que Keane’s “Can’t Stop Now” but I think I’ll let Exit Music play out to its completion. Speaking of “Exit Music” did you ever see that movie “Unfaithful,” yeah the one with Richard Gere. It’s got a really dark orchestra version of the Radiohead classic, top notch cover, crappy movie.

Class starts in a couple minutes… “Comfortably Numb” is now playing, not the Pink Floyd song, but the Scissor Sisters. Really how disappointing was their second album? Talk about letdowns, such a unique gimmick wasted… and to think my brother and sister actually dug their first album, mainstream potential wasted I guess. 49 seconds left, I guess I’ll just let the ticks play out. What could be next? Hmm… iPod on shuffle is fun… and our survey says….

Hmm… this is unfamiliar- a bunch of machines grinding. Ummm.. yeah that sounds like Beck whaling in the background. Yep, the vocals indicate this to be true, I don’t know this one, time to take a peak. “Nazarene” is title, a slow rigid little arm shaker, not too bad, this makes me recall a conversation I had with my sister how having Beck on your iPod gives you generic indie cred. He’s one of those musicians that people see on your iPod and just kinda give you the nod that you’re down. Beck is fading out to an acoustic like jamming… and next we have…

……………oh I know this one. Hmmm… Longview I believe, an old friend got me into Longview when she sent me a mix cd a long long time ago with “Further.” It’s a little serious and heartfelt for my mood right now, but brings back pleasant memories… I’m way old. How these guys are not more popular is a mystery to me, the music is perfect for radio, and it’s got that positive uplifting message. These guys were Snow Patrol before Snow Patrol even existed. Still can’t recall the song title, time to take a look, my instinct says its “Will You Wait Here” but I’m uncertain….. bingo nailed it.

Alright, no edit tonight. Sorry for the typos. Class calls.

Butterfly Pavillion.

This is me forcing myself to learn the basics of video editing. I've been toying around with Sony Vegas for the last few hours and here was the result. Also, note the improved video quality! I think I'm figuring it out!

You can see everything from lookout mouN-tain!

A windy day on Lookout Mountain in Colorado. Demonstrating the awesome power of the zoom on the Sony HDR-HC3. One of these days I'll figure out how NOT to lose massive amounts of quality when converting these m2t files to MPEG2 then to DivX. Grrrrr.... video loss. :(

One Hell of a Party

Air (Featuring Jarvis Cocker) - One Hell of a Party

Solid. Jarvis and Air unite for a collaboration that still holds relevance. I love these deeply introspective efforts by Jarvis, it's the kind of music that makes me sit here and realize how old we all are.

Thanks to Jennifer for posting.

Pacman Jones Once Again.

“More than $81,000 in cash belonging to Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was seized by police, who say the money sparked a weekend melee and a triple shooting at a strip club.”

Yep, you read that correct.

· $81,000 Cash
· Guns
· Strip Club
· Melee
· Pacman Jones

Sadly, the bouncer got hit in the spine and is now paralyzed. It appears Pacman Jones is leading the pack of thugs who will be given countless chances by NFL teams, simply because of his talent. News reports like this will quickly destroy what is easily the greatest professional sports league on the planet. Here’s to hoping NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell sends a firm message to all these “get away with murder” NFL thugs.

This isn’t the NBA, so please, leave your glock at home.

Consolation Prizes.

Phoenix's "Consolation Prizes" makes sitting through my 7AM-9PM work/class hell day absolutely tolerable. Sigh, I guess the truth is that it could absolutely be worse. The weather is getting better- it’s true I saw some pavement the other day.

Have your student ID ready to go if you ride the lightrail. The rent a cop gave me a ticket for not having an up to date student ID. When I tried to plead my case, he very sharply said “if you want to get huffy with me, I’ll give you a real problem…”

Damn you Rent a Cop! Damn you straight to hell!

Blockbuster Deal!

I just played a really mean joke on Jim. I work with Jim, he would definitely be the biggest Cleveland Browns fan I've ever met. Nothing like shattering a man's soul for your own personal enjoyment.. so refreshing...

Scorpio Rising

Brett Anderson recently leaked a new song from his upcoming solo album. Surprisingly top class, of course Brett is without a doubt my favorite singer ever, so would you expect any other reaction? Nope. The new song is called Scorpio Rising, and you can hear it at Brett's myspace page.

Coachella 2007.

So Jarvis Cocker is going to be at Coachella. Had it been Pulp I would be going... Even with Interpol and Travis that lineup is pretty underwhelming. The list is full of acts that I've seen in the past, but don't have any real desire to see again... and really, does anyone give two shits about Rage Against the Machine or Chili Peppers?

Sigh... maybe next year...
